Humanity’s Path to Perdition

by Manik

You see socialism as the degenerate bastard son of the devil himself

but wonder why the distribution doesn’t drop below the top shelf

Social inequities in extreme ranges all across the nation

luckily, you only face a generation dumbed down by television

You created a vacuum of political education

for us to heed and follow your elitist indoctrination

Mainstream media spread your lie

a generation, a country without asking why

The land which is ours doesn’t produce our needs

it is with poison that it feeds

Manipulated foods to control the population

this is no longer a problem of only our nation!

Fascism is spreading at a disturbing pace

if we can’t remember the past, we have forgotten our face

Marx predicted that history is repetition

and all we do is sign the next petition!

All across the globe we should take it to the streets

trample on the elitist heart until it no longer beats

For generations to come, we must find the ways

for we are looking at very dark days

Lennon’s words have lost their meaning

instead of imagining, we are dreaming

Of a time that once was and never again will be

this has been their ultimate plan, you see?

The systems which control us will always come and go

neoliberalism is the peak of perversion and manipulative mojo

This is a fact that is for all to know

under these circumstances our society will cease to grow

We’ll be stuck in a process that isn’t completed

the future sees us defeated and resources depleted

A world where the few have the say

but for their atrocities we have to pay

Imagine a world where the wealth is equally spread

where everyone shares the same bed

Where our intellectuals will grow

and discover things we have yet to know

A world where we have fought

to live freely and expand our thoughts

Our society will continue its destined process

and everyone is granted the same access

We are stronger, we want change, we will fight!

Fascism and the elite, we say good night!

America, no matter your beauty

Your leaders have betrayed us.

The Socialist Alternative

The Socialist Alternative has had a huge success in Seattle! Sawant was elected to the city council!

Now it is up to the people of Seattle to support her in any way that they can. She will not be able to make the changes against ignorant, elite and greedy members in the council on her own.

This could get the rock rolling!

The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement

The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement ( TPP ).
Ever heard of it? Probably not.

The TPP is a secretive, multi-national trade agreement that threatens to extend restrictive intellectual property (IP) laws across the globe and rewrite international rules on its enforcement.

There are twelve countries currently in the negotations:  Australia, Peru, Malaysia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Chile, Singapore, Brunei, Mexico, Canada, and the United States and Japan.

The issues with it are :

(1) IP chapter: Leaked draft (WikiLeaks) texts of the agreement show that the IP chapter would have extensive negative ramifications for users’ freedom of speech, right to privacy and due process, and hinder peoples' abilities to innovate.
(2) Lack of transparency: The entire process has shut out multi-stakeholder participation and is shrouded in secrecy.
Before I give a brief explanation on what this agreement would mean for us, I want to mention the biggest or scariest part of this agreement.
This agreement is supposed to be "fast tracked." This procedure would limit the congressional role and debate over an agreement already negotiated and signed by the executive branch, which the Congress would have to vote up or down without amendments.
This means that the Congress has pretty much no chance to vote aganst this law, or make changes to it. This is a very disturbing action, considering how many of our basic constitutional rights are at stake.
It is impossible for me to explain the ramifications of this agreement here. It would require further analysis of the leaked chapters and more chapters to be leaked.
At least now you have heard aout the TPP! Now it should be in your own interest to read about it and see what you can do.
Remember: a similar agreement is supposed to take place the on Atlantic side as well. Current NSA scandals have apparently put these negotiations on hold.
The TPP explained quickly and why YOU should care :
TPP raises significant concerns about citizens’ freedom of expression, due process, innovation, the future of the Internet’s global infrastructure, and the right of sovereign nations to develop policies and laws that best meet their domestic priorities. In sum, the TPP puts at risk some of the most fundamental rights that enable access to knowledge for the world’s citizens.
The US Trade Rep is pursuing a TPP agreement that will require signatory counties to adopt heightened copyright protection that advances the agenda of the US entertainment and pharmaceutical industries agendas, but omits the flexibilities and exceptions that protect Internet users and technology innovators.
The TPP will affect countries beyond the 12 that are currently involved in negotiations. Like ACTA, the TPP Agreement is a plurilateral agreement that will be used to create new heightened global IP enforcement norms. Countries that are not parties to the negotiation will likely be asked to accede to the TPP as a condition of bilateral trade agreements with the US and other TPP members, or evaluated against the TPP's copyright enforcement standards.

What can you do to stop it?

Thought on the side :
There was once a word to describe the merging of governmental and corporate interests - fascism.
Someone needs to come up with a word for the domination of governments by corporations.

Take a vacation, Netanjahu!

Iran and Uranium is a problem for countries that already have a nuclear arsenal. It is a geopolitical "argument."

30 years of dispute and sanctions have not led to a success. The hopes of Iran and the USA, that the opposing side will simply "give up" their beliefs under pressure have diminished. Iran and America have finally understood this and have began diplomatic talks between Obama's administration and President Rohani.

Geneva was now, once again, the meeting point for  talks about the Uranium enrichment program in Iran. The results: not bad.

A three-point deal was negotiated, which is supposed to be upheld for 6 months.

A quick summary:

1.) Iran will stop the Uranium 235 enrichment at 20% and freeze it at the current 3,5%. This means that no new centrifuges will be installed.

2.) The plant in Arak, which is currently under construction, will take a " break ." The IAEA is given permission to inspect this plant and installations outside of Arak.

3.) The Sanctions against Iran will be loosened. This allows Iran an approximate sale of 7 billion dollars of oil on the newly opened international market.

Money that could be very useful for Iran, although not dependent on it.

So far so good. Diplomats from America, Germany and the EU speak of a success. Iran is also able to live with this agreement and is celebrating it in the media.

There is one person that can't live with this agreement. Netanjahu of Israel. He calls this agreement a " historical mistake ."

The holy land then complains about exclusion by the 5 & 1 negotiators. Directly after the agreement, the Israel lobby in Washington declared further sanctions against Iran.

Peace doesn't work that way.

To mention it by name : The Israel government, which is run by radical religious rights, is moving its country more and more towards isolation. Moreover, it is causing its biggest friend, America, to distance itself from Israel.

The relationship to the European Union is also beginning to falter. The reason : the illegal settlements.

It is also a fact that this agreement is a great step towards minimizing the situation in the Middle East.

The Diplomats thst were in Geneva should therefore concentrate on what they have achieved, not on those that weren't part of the talks and have nothing better in mind than to talk bad about the current situation!

If Iran can live without Uranium enrichment for 6 months, I think it should be possible for Israel to stop the production of pure hatred for the next 6 months, as well.

Mr.Netanjahu, take a vacation!

Unite.share.change

This blog is intended to enlighten some, although preferably many, about the wrongs in our society. This blog should be the first place to go to read comments, discuss, and learn about current events from a perspective that is not influenced by mainstream media.

I intend to post about current events and historical facts. A good knowledge of both is important, for we as a civilisation must remember the past and use our past to determine our future. Our future, under current circumstances, will be one of exploitation, social injustice, betrayal, lies, and class struggles.

Class struggles? Class struggles have determined the history and shape of things that have come, and what will come in our future.

"the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles" - Karl Marx

This blog is not to be understood as a political blog. Athough most postings will be about current political happenings, it is not the only factor of this blog. The ruling class doesn't only have its grip on us politically, but also in terms of higher education, religion, and social structure.

Therefore I intend, or ask you, to submit posts. No matter if it is a religious, social or political critique. Everyone deserves to be heard. Our voice is 90% of the world's voice! The torch is now in our hands.

"The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workers of the world, unite!" - Karl Marx

Today, in the year 2013, it should be easy for us to unite. There are many, just in my area, that are fed up with the way things are going. We will not spark a revolution or a massive uprising. That is in the hands of others. We will become a big community with the same interests and share our thoughts with likeminded people. Social Networks allow us to connect. We should use this platform. We cannot allow the fact that we can't unite under a common ground in today's world. All throughout history, the people have united. Facebook, Twitter, etc haven't always been around!

Unite. Share. Change.

OUR STRENGTH  IS THE COLLECTIVE!

Please submit thoughts, poems, short stories, art, etc !

More to come...
